 New Membership
Categories Created

The RPA Board of Directors, meeting in NAPA, California on August 26 and 27, created "Affiliate" and "Individual" membership classifications to offer governmental agencies, organizations and individuals interested in the objectives and purposes of the association an opportunity to join. RPA Secretary, Jorge Sousa, Ph.D., said, "There are many governmental agencies, academic institutions and other organizations who support the RPA goal of 'encouraging greater usage of high quality, cost effective asphalt pavements containing scrap tire rubber' and would like to join in this international effort. However, given our current classifications which limits membership to contractors, scrap tire processors and businesses who supply goods and services to the industry, these people have not had the opportunity to join in the global effort which benefits our infrastructure and environment in so many ways. With the new classifications, public works and environmental agencies at all levels can benefit from our technology transfer programs and become a part of an exciting concept in road building. Likewise, students and others interested in our goals can now become members." Sousa said the Affiliate dues are $75.00 annually and Individual membership is $35.00 per year. For more information visit the RPA website www.rubberpavements.org or call the office (480) 517-9944 for an application form.

The Rubber Pavements Association is a nonprofit organization committed to increased awareness and advancement of Asphalt-Rubber technology through seminars, research and publications. The association only supports proven paving processes which meet the ASTM definition D8-88 and standard specification D-6114-97 or public processes which are routinely
used by two or more states. The RPA is governed by a Board of Directors from member companies throughout the world. For membership, library or meeting information, visit the RPA website at www.rubberpavements.org.
