Amirkhanian and Takallou Elected to TAB

Serji Amirkhanian, PhD., Director of the
Asphalt Rubber Technology Service,
Clemson University and a long time
researcher in crumb rubber modified
asphalt was chosen to serve on the
Technical Advisory Board. Amirkhanian
has published over 100 refereed papers,
articles and technical reports. His
involvements in professional organizations
include ASCE, AAPT, TRB, ASTM,
ASEE and the Construction Research
Council. He teaches undergraduate
and graduate level courses at Clemson
in construction materials, practices and
productivity as well as pavement design
and maintenance. He has received the
Chi Epsilon Outstanding Teacher award
on six different occasions.
H. Barry Takallou who received his
PhD. at Oregon State University, is
another crumb rubber modified asphalt
expert picked for the Technical Advisory Board. Takallou has performed
research and provided technical consultation in pavement evaluation,
design, materials and computer application for pavement analysis and
management systems for many years. He is currently President of Crumb
Rubber Manufacturers (CRM) a tire processing plant in the Los Angeles,
CA area. Takallou has written scores of technical papers and is affiliated
with numerous professional organizations such as AAPT, ISAP, TRB, ASCE,
APWA and others. He is also a member of the RPA Executive Committee.
